about me

"I paint intuitively. I paint whatever comes through me. Living in the desert with its wild winds, I experience the elements of nature in a very physical way. The intense blazing summers strip away layers and layers of self and I am left renewed with relentless energy and the need to create."

Louise Lowry

In the surrounds of Dublin, Ireland and Britain, performing as an eight-year-old, I was a competitive ballroom dancer. I love to dance. In my teenage years my work as a model and TV commercial artist provided an early taste of a kind of work.

As a young adult I became a private chef for celebrities of the music scene at Windmill Lane Studios and, upon moving to the US, for Hollywood elites. I’ve been a restaurateur, a chef at the renowned Monte Nido treatment center for women with eating disorders. I’ve been a photographer, a blogger, a writer (“My Savory Life”) and later a painter. All my activity and vitality funnels into the aspiration of impressing a lasting stamp on others.

My painting marks a free-mind explosion for me and an output of hand-to-canvas expression. Literally my hand will go to the canvas with paints, adhesives, objects and color that make up a finished construct.

My family is spread from a Dublin start as brothers and sisters across Europe and North America. I thrive on the diversity of this familial connection and I travel with the opportunity to move among these places inside our congealing world body. Therein lies the beauty of life to me.

Now I show a part of my expression through galleries and on platforms like this and show another side of my ever-changing understanding.

I am thankful to have a loving, supportive husband and the love of a son through whom I can sense his worldly journey of expression.

Thanks for being here to share my art.    Louise

"Textured art is another experience altogether and I like moving paint around using my hands and fingers and knives and scrapers and bits and pieces that are lying about that make interesting shapes and designs."
